Beaches in and around Larnaca

Larnaca has some of the island`s longest sandy beaches, stretching for miles along the coast. Most of these have bars, restaurants and hotels close by offering full facilities for swimmers, sunbathers and more energetic visitors!

MacKenzie Beach

MacKenzie Beach is situated on the outskirts of the city centre, only a few minutes drive from the airport. The beach is famous for its beautiful white sand and clean, cooling waters. Visitors can experience many types of water sports, or simply relax in comfort and enjoy the sunshine. There is also an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, which are well-known among locals for their fresh seafood and Cypriot cuisine. Excellent parking facilities are available.

Phinikoudes Beach

As Larnaca town`s main beach, Phinikoudes is a very popular destination for tourists. Running alongside the bustling Larnaca front, it boasts a full range of beach activities and a wide choice of entertainment. Loungers and parasols can be hired for a totally relaxing visit and with the huge range of restaurants and bars bordering the promenade, visitors are never far from refreshments to suit every taste.

Dhekelia Beach

Dhekelia Beach is Larnaca`s largest beach, stretching for miles and forming the backdrop for many of Larnaca`s four- and five-star hotels and resorts. The range of facilities at the beach area is varied, and many of the local hotels offer access to their facilities for a fee. There are also plenty of water sports to try, as well as other beach activities such as volleyball. There is a great variety of restaurants along the Dhekelia Road that runs the length of the beach, from designer fusion lounges to tavernas.

Cyprus Tourist Organisation endorsed beach

Locally known as Pyla Beach and located on the Dhekelia Road, this beautiful sandy beach also offers various water sports, volleyball and has a small football pitch on the sand. There is ample parking and a play area within easy sight of the best sunbathing spots and the gently shelving sea makes this an ideal beach for families. The area is also very close to the relaxing bars and restaurants, where excellent lunchtime menus - including local meze and superb salads - can be enjoyed. A great place to visit to relax, unwind and appreciate the sunshine into the early evening

Faros Beach - Cape Kiti

Faros is a small, unspoilt beach with facilities for a relaxing day by the sea. There is a beach bar and water sports, with jet skis and more. The beach also has a sea barrier, making it ideal for small children to play safely in the sea. Faros beach is a quiet beach, perfect for visitors who enjoy a more tranquil day.

Potamos Bay and Beach

This beach and cove area is set towards Aiya Napa, East of Larnaca. An idyllic small fishing harbour on a creek, it is particularly beautiful early in the morning when the local fishermen are returning with their night`s catch. There are two tavernas serving fresh caught food all day, and a couple of sandy areas where you can park just steps away from the sea. The perfect location for a relaxing and secluded day in the sun.
